Picnik

I have been having fun playing around with some free photo editing (free)at a site called picnik. I like this feature called: collage. ~The pretty Cosmos are from our garden. They are so easy to grow: you just buy the seeds and plant them directly in the soil when it warms up. This is the 1st Summer that I have grown the white ones and I quite like them.

New Bloom

Before I had my morning coffee, I stepped out into the garden. What I saw took my breath away and I was stunned by this beauty of a poppy! I only wish that these photos did it justice, but truely it is so much more beautiful than I have been able to capture. A friend gave me a division of this plant last summer but it didn't "move" well and didn't bloom for us. We had to wait a year to see this beauty...talk about worth the wait!

Our Garden in late May!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

OOoooooo and Ahhhhhh

...sunny day in May = planting seeds

I talk to my garden (don't you?) and tell these seeds to "Please oh pretty please, do sprout quickly!"

I planted about 30 zinnias-a very tiny variety for the front of the gardens (all different colours), light pink and white Cosmos (very tall) and last but not least white Zinnias for the back of the garden. Many of which I will cut to have huge boquets all over the house (i just have to wait until late July to do that...).

(I didn't take these pics...just found images on the Web...I will take some of my own in a few months. And that's a promise!! )

Lily Of the Valley

...just started to bloom. Miss matched salt and pepper shakers make beautiful little vases for small sprigs of life. These pictures were taken outside on our front railing with the Lilac bush behind, in full bloom.
