CREATIVE URGES!!!!
Have you ever felt driven to create? Yesterday I had such an urge to paint! I went hunting around and found a canvas (from the Dollar Store!) and some cheep acrylic paints that the kid's use. I located the brushes and got to work. Minutes turned into hours and I found that I had been painting away all morning. Lost in the enjoyment of all these colours that I was creating and smushing in textures with...a bottle brush!! I ended up with some abstract type lilac flowers. I showed my art to Tirzah (age 9) later that day and she said..."Oh, flowers! Nice mommy. At first I thought it was just a painting of nothing!" That led us into a discussion that art was art...art doesn't have to be a realistic copy of something. Anyway...today I finished the painting. Being married to an Artist could make it intimidating to paint. BUT...I know that my art doesn't have to look like Shaun's art. We are all so unique and so should the things that we create.
I am all ready looking forward to painting again. BUT...this time I will find the good quality paints and upgrade the canvas as well!!
I dare YOU to create today! Write a poem, take some picture with your camera, sing a new song, doodle!!!
