Thankful thoughts...

~sunshine

~We are enjoying the kids being the ages that they are. They are fun and say the funniest things (when they aren't trying to be funny)!

~music being made in our livingroom (being a musician's wife isn't all bad...If you don't know what I mean by that, just ask the families and they will tell you that sometimes they are the ones to make a lot of the sacrifices, while their beloved is out at a "gig".) It is a joy to be surrounded by music. This is not just my husband either...our daughter is also always singing. I love it!

~Hope. It's been filling my heart and overflowing. Refreshing and lovely!

I am Thankful

~my husband enjoys baking with me. I love it! Things get made twice as fast. This year I am doing extra Christmas baking so this is a real blessing. Not to mention that we get to spend the time together.

~I have a few REALLY great friends. They know some secrets about me. They also know lots of silly and unimportant things about me like I love cooking but hate cleaning or that I just have to drink my coffee in which ever mug is my favorite at that moment, because it just is so much more enjoyable that way. I am blessed to know some of their secrets (as well as some silly things) and I am thankful. Surface relationships are ok, but real, true and deep relationships are the best!

~I have been laughing more and find myself smiling for no apparent reason. I like being happy. Having just come out of a "season" of much heaviness and feeling so very sober, day in and day out, this new season is such a breath of fresh air and came-just in time! I am breathing deeply. I am thankful for this season of joy.

~A new friend recently blessed me with a whole new wardrobe. Some of the things still have the price tags on and had not even been worn! Almost everything fit perfectly. Honestly, I have not ever had so many clothes and they have never been this nice. This friend has great taste and because she is a hair stylist all her clothes are trendy and classy. I am so thankful that she was so generous to me. I feel lavished on!

~ God is always relevant. I love my God and am so thankful that He is always the answer. In a sometimes very sad and dark world, I am glad that I can let my light shine. And share His hope...

Harvest time!

We enjoyed some sun at a local Apple Orchard this past Sunday. It's a family tradition to get some treats and also to buy some pumpkin and squash to decorate for Fall. Our favorite treat is sesame seed brittle. (Most of you will know that my husband Shaun is allergic to nuts but not seeds, so this is a tasty treat that he can have too!) Here are a few pics of some of our Harvest (that someone else grew)! We are thankful!!!

Gratitude

I am thankful for:

~a door for Tirzah's room. She has waited a long time for this and is VERY excited to get this door hanging! We are all thankful for Grandpa's help getting it cut the right size and all the hardware fitted properly. Tirzah is looking forward to helping out with the painting stage.

~I enjoyed this past week even though it rained a lot. Shaun helped a friend move out and everything went smoothly. Big relief.

~ had a wonderful LONG walk with my friend Jenny one morning this week at the Bay (i have to admit my legs did hurt a bit, the next day) ha-ha! I enjoyed a lunch with a friend and her 3 1/2 year old as well. She is due to have a baby in Oct and her belly is growing (I *kinda* miss those days)!!

~The kids kept busy with play dates with their friends. Tirzah had a fun afternoon swimming in the rain. She had a HUGE pool almost to herself (just 5 kids there).

~Both the kids call their Granny pretty much every day and make frequent trips with their Grandparents to the library or go over to their house for a meal, etc. What a blessing to have family CLOSE by!

Gratitude

I am thankful for....

~intimate worship~i am listening to "never let go" by David Crowder. It's sooooo good!!

~being re-connected with an old friend~don't you just love the Internet?!!!

~dreams and laughter~i woke myself up last night with a "belly laugh" as I was having a funny dream. This wasn't a little giggle. It was big, loud and from deep within my belly. I think it was a gift from God. He is restoring joy. I receive it!!

~thunder~even though a storm kept me awake much of last night I am thankful for the thunder. It reminds me that God is powerful.

Gratitude

Yard Sales=getting to visit with your neighbors, finding treasures and getting exercise!

The 5 of us (we brought the dog) set off on foot to check out some near to us Yard Sales. Josiah picked out a Family Circus Book and Tirzah found a really funky cool houseplant called a Jade plant. I got a nicely shaped terracotta pot and a small clump of a perennial called Sweet Woodruff. I also got some salt and pepper shakers. I am using the glass bottles as vases for small sprigs of flowers, like Lily of the Valley. It looks beautiful in all the different, tiny shaped bottles and now the house smells so good!

While we were out and about, we met a neighbor that had a job offer for Josiah. She has asked him to deal with all her weeds that are growing on her lawn. She has this handy tool that you poke into the ground, give it a twist and pop! -Out comes the weed. Now, Josiah is waiting for a rainy day so he can do the job the "day after", when the ground is nice and soft.

Thankful thoughts

Anointed music ~i have had songs continually being brought to my mind for the past week. It has been feeding my spirit!

Heart connections ~i am thankful for deep relationships. I believe relationships are the foundation on which EVERYTHING else is built upon.

Our daughter's Joy ~Tirzah is ecstatic to be involved in the Musical "Annie" that her school is preforming 3 nights this week. Her teacher pulled her aside and told her that she was "born to act." Tirzah's response to her was: "...well, I come from a very dramatic family!" HA!!!

Gardening ~I planted lots of bulbs this fall. Five different varieties. A few have bloomed and others are still growing and needing some warmer weather. These bulbs were a gift from my mom and I am thankful for her too. She shares my love for flowers. I am also blessed to have a dad AND a husband who appreciate the beauty of flowers. What can I say? I AM blessed!

I am thankful for...

...Spring rain. It is washing away all the dirty icy and and snow.

...15th wedding anniversary and plans to go away with my Shaun and celebrate! I can't believe that I have known my husband for 20 years! I was just 15 when we met!!! Time sure does fly...

...my parents looking after the kids and pet sitting our dog, so that we can go away for a few days.

...my girlfriends who listen, pray for me, encourage me. Some live here in my City, others live far away. I love it that we can still be friends even with miles between us (like Janet W. and Cheryl M)! It is fun to share in each others joys as well and laugh together!

....PS! This one is for Jenny: I found your potted Patio Rose in our garage. It is looking like it "wintered" very well and I am sure you can look forward to many beautiful blooms this summer! If I remember correctly, it is a burnt orange colour? ;o)
