"Since God chose you to be the holy people whom He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you.Colossians 3:12-15
Hmmmmm....Interesting Scripture, eh? What do you do when you are offended? I have to admit, forgiving the offence, doesn't happen to be a "natural" instinct that grips me! So, this is a challange for me to become more tender hearted, mercyful, humble, gentle and patient. I am sure I will have oppertunity to be challanged in this area! Will let you know how it turns out...

It's so hard when you're offended to live this verse....When Isaiah was born I did something to a really good friend (at the time) ( I still don't know what I did)..and she stopped talking to me. She hasn't really talked to me since, other than some showy "hi's" around church and stuff. I still can't believe that an offence can grip people so much. I am still having trouble thinking kind thoughts towards her...although I make it a point to pray blessing for her and her family daily. I know and live this verse daily....it's so much harder than we think. Thanks for pushing me a bit harder!! Amy
Amy,
Interesting to hear a story from teh other side (ie. someone holding an offence against you). I think that you are doing all that you can...forgiving with God's help and praying blessing. Keep it up. Hopefully, there will be a happy ending to this story...and your friendship will restored.

Lovely new template, Holly. Offence is definitely a difficult one. I recommend a great book - The Bait of Satan, by John Bevere. Our cell group did the video series and it was great.
I am in total agreement with Rhonda's suggestion on the above book. I have read this MANY times....I seem to need a regular "reminder" on the topic of offence.
I am not easily offended but when I am it's not pretty!! So I find myself going back over this book many times.... I am determined, with God's help, to honor Him and not take "The Bait".
