SPRING CLEANING
Some of you have been in our home (moved in this past Summer). It is a 2 story Century House that was "gutted" and totally re-done, several years before we purchased it. Anyway, it is small. Not unbearable so. I fondly call it "compact"! Because of it's size, it is easy to get too much stuff in the house and then it looks sooooooooooooo cluttered. So, for the past 2 days I have been cleaning and taking things out to the garage (that is what you have to do when you don't have a basement)! Yesterday, I cleaned my laundry room and the hall closet. I joyfully packed away most of the mitts, hats, gloves, etc. Then I moved on to the Kitchen and cleaned up the top of the fridge. Scary. But, task completed.
Today, I started doing "touch up" painting all over the house. Wow! What a difference that makes when there aren't any more "dings" all over your walls. I know, I know, I should have washed the walls first (groan)! Anyway, I was happily interrupted by my friend Karen and her little one. Time to stop for a coffee/tea break. I gave her some of my "clutter" (yah)! I mean...I gave her some very nice kid's clothes. And Karen gave me some of her clutter. I mean, Karen gave me a book that she had 2 copies of!!! lol
Yes. Spring is definitely in the air. Yipee!!!!

When in doubt pitch it out!
I clean out most areas regularily BUT our garage and basement storage room are NASTY!!!! In almost 5 years of living here the car has NEVER been in the garage for over an hour all total. I don't know where it all comes from....Kevin is a Very patient man. I am determined to get it under control this year - this would make a great reformation. Don't tell my husband as he may hold me accountable for these words!
What book did you get from Karen - inquiring minds would like to know?
Holly,
Isn't it funny how the ability to throw open the windows and let the Spring in, gives us such an urge to make everything clean and organized?
Because Jianna was haveing a large birthday party....18 4-6 year olds in one house is tooooo many...I got a little bit of an early start. I touched up all the upstairs dings, but am really trying to get up enough energy and nerve to get Mark to help me completly redo the downstairs paint. Daycare really took it's toll...touching up won't cut it.
We literally got rid of a van load of toys and the like once we had to find room for the new toys that come with having 18 kids at a party!! I thought I purged last summer when daycare was done!
Eventually, the kids rooms will get done.
I'm tired now,
Jen
Hi girls,
The book that Karen gave me is a C.S. Lewis book...called the "Great Divorce"...I think it is about "good vs. evil".
Jenny, I can't imagion having 18 little ones in my home for a child's party! WOW! You are a BRAVE woman!!!
Yeah!!!!Spring is here!!!
I'm needing to get going on my spring cleaning too. Yesterday the diabetes association called to say they would have a truck in the area next week so if I have any used clothing to have it out to the curb......I wonder how big the truck is???
Holly, Kira's highlight of the day yesterday was seeing Wit and hearing him get in trouble for ripping apart your garbage bag. She told Cliff all about it when he got home. It was quite cute.
Karen
I too did some spring cleaning out of the closets.
I have alot of clothes that have been given to me as hand me downs that I almost never wear or worse yet- hope to fit in "some day" They sit in my closet a year or more, and make it look like I have all these clothes............... so out they went to the Sallyanne box today.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm God's got us all cleaning us preparing for something new.
I am happy for all of you spring cleaners! At the moment I have to put my major cleaning off for just a bit longer. Still have 10 lessons of school work left to do!
