COME...
I have been meditating on this scripture all day today. I have written it out in 3 different translations. All are wonderful!! If you are like me you will need to read this at least a few times for it to really soak into your spirits.

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me, Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I will show you how to take a real rest walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:28-30 Message Bible

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and over burdened, and I will cause you to rest. (I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.)

Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief, ease and refreshment, recreation, and blessed quiet) for your souls.

For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing but comfortable, gracious and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
Matthew 11:28-30 Amp.

Funny...a number of us are on similar thought patterns today. My burden is a friend's burden of grief...yet, I know He is ever Faithful.

Thank you for this post.

Notice the choice is ours; We are to take the first action....If only we come "come".

Hum....Good words to soak in!!

Another blogger was also quoting this verse in the past few days - I think it was Sue from the States. Soon we will be able to soak the Word in as we soak the sun in.

This may be for someone..???

I was surfing through all the blogs, and upon each one I had a greater urgency to pray--sometimes specific, sometimes just praising God...and then I saw Jesus cradling a small child...just holding him...and all I could hear was "Hush little baby, don't say a word...Hush little baby, don't say a word..."

I continue to pray.

Hi Holly,
I agree, you have a great name! It's nice to meet you. I've called Tamar a few times and said, "Hey, it's Holly." and then she would realize that it was me...because she thought it was you. Anyway, great blog! I love your photo choices and your expressive words.

I have heard described that this yoke is a two person yoke and that as we take His yoke, we become a team. If I try to push ahead it will be hard and if I find that I'm behind, I miss out on the blessings...
Love that verse!
Blessings,
Holly

Amy...

My mom used to sing that lullaby to us as wee children.
Mind you, she also sang "2 Irish men"
and "Pat McGuinty's Goat"

Unless you have Irish roots you probably haven't heard of these songs....I won't grace you now...let's just say...my first words should have been VERY COLORFUL!!!!!
