Psalm 18:1-3, 30-36

I love you, Lord; you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold.
I will call on the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
for he saves me from my enemies.

As for God, his way is perfect.
All the Lords promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is the solid rock?
God arms me with strength;
He has made my way safe.
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
leading me safely along the mountain heights.
He prepares me for battle;
he strengthens me to draw a bow of bronze.
You have given me the shield of your salvation.
Your right hand supports me,
your gentleness has made me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet
to keep them from slipping.

In this passage, I love the part
"he strengthens me to draw a bow of bronze".

The summer before Kevin and I got married I worked at a private camp grounds(a very large one) as a short order cook. I was to be in the main house but upon arriving for my summer job my employers placed me out a very secluded area of the camp grounds in an old abandoned trailer with NO lock even on the door. Kevin was upset and tried to convince me not to stay - but I insisted that it was a commitment that I would keep no matter what (silly girl).

What a time I had - bears and creepy guys were determined to pester me. I read the Pslams constantly and had a VERY good prayer life. These scriptures brought great comfort and peace.

I love Psalms. I am reading 'David' by Charles Swindoll. It's giving me greater insight into Psalms.

Roxanne,
I think that I would like to read that book! Is the title: David?
