Antique Bed
When Shaun and I were engaged we bought an antique bedroom furniture set. A high boy dresser for him, a long pretty dresser for me, an nightside table and a very old bed frame with a head and foot board. It is rich dark wood, I think it is mahogany and besides all the "dings" and scratches we both really have enjoyed it. Until...
On the weekend we decided we wanted to move around the furniture. We switched places with the dressers and were on to moving the bed when we heard rrrrrip!! The foot board cracked! We hauled everything to the garage and then set up the box spring and mattress right on to the floor. We actually really like the way it looks! So, I guess it is time for a change. We are going to get a platform for the bed so it will have an "Asian inspired style". I am hoping my dad can use the "old" wood to make me a new night side table (or two).

You are lucky to have such a talented father at making things. I wish it was genetic! :)
Haha! Everyone, Marsalie is my cousin and our Dad's are brothers...I guess my Uncle Fred isn't a "builder"! ;o)
By the way...the pictures of the beds are from a Sears web site...not our bedroom!
I think the black set would suit you both so well....you could exchange your artwork every week or so to get a new feel and fresh inspiration!
My Dad has lots of talents, but building is definitely not one of them...at least not that he has shared with me. He's still a pretty great guy though!
