Hearing

I just finished listening to another great teaching, this one by Bill Johnson (click here to listen); titled Hearing God's Voice. I wanted to share some thoughts that come from his teaching:

~Confession is when you agree with God. Repentance is much deeper...it cut that thing (sin, issue, etc) off by the root.

~If I obtain favor by my own effort than I have to keep up with my effort to stay in that favor.

~You can not get a new mantle until you become "dis-mantled". You must loose the old before you get the new.

~God lets some thing come to the surface so that we can see them and then deal with them.

~The Wilderness can actually be a place of extreme bounty. What makes it a wilderness is that your needs do not come thorough a natural means. What the wilderness does to you, is it cuts down your options!

~God allows storms to come to our lives, not to de-rail us but to give us resolve.

~We can be tempted to live by His principles but we need to live out of His presence. You will not get your breakthrough from Principles. You only get breakthrough from His voice. Principles come into play when you can not hear His voice.
