Something to look forward too...

We have had a tremendous amount of snow this Winter (and according the the weather reports it has not yet come to an end). Each Winter, usually in late January, I find myself longing for Spring. This year my aching for the change in the weather seems much more desperate. Despite what I see when I look out the window (snow), I know that Spring really will come...just as it does every year!

A few weeks ago I planted some tiny flower seeds. They have a sunny perch on our living room window ledge. This morning, I noticed that 2 seeds have sprouted. Might not sound like a big deal to you, but I was EXCITED!!!

(The picture above was taken last Spring of our beautiful tulips. I am hoping that they have multiplied and I will have even more to enjoy this coming Spring!)

I have one stray tulip that grows at the side of my house. I always look forward to it's blooming.
Yes Ladies I said one.
I wasn't blessed with green thumb but my neighbours were,so in the summer I look out my back window and see all the beautiful morning glories blooming on my side of the fence.
I enjoy them so much, perhaps it's because I don't have to weed them.

I love this picture. Today it is 11 C and we've out talking to our elderly neighbours who are anxiously awaiting for the flowers to bloom.

This is such a great photo!
I will have my own backyard this summer, so I am hoping to get a garden going. I love flowers and have always wanted to learn.
Any suggestions or "what-not-to-do's".. pass the love!!!

Spring IS coming. I still speak this despite the 40 cm of snow PTBO got last night.

Jenna,
I do not know much about growing veggies.
For flowers, I would start with a very simple garden. Is it full sun part sun or full shade? After you figure that out...I can recommend what to try.

I sure have been enjoying the spring weather here. People are out picking in their gardens and the orchards are pruning the trees.... yah Spring!
