WINDOW SILL GARDENING
update: I have 7 snapdragon and 3 wave petunia plants growing. They are a few weeks old now and have 4 tiny leaves on them.
Yesterday, I planted some:
~Hollyhocks~
I collected the seeds from an Apple Orchard that grows these beautiful burgundy hollyhocks. I hope the seeds germinate. I have read that the plant will not flower it's 1st year...but we shall see.
~Ruby eclipse Sunflowers~
These are a dwarf and a pollen free sunflower that I have grown before a few times. I haven't been able to grow them yet at this new house as the squires dig up the seed to eat! I will see if the early start indoors help me at all. I am hoping that by the time I plant them outside the seed will have all ready decomposed and the squirrels will leave it alone! These are the prettiest flowers and are so awesome to cut and bring inside (they are pollen free)!! Burgundy in colour with a touch of golden yellow.
~Crazy Daisy~
I grew 2 of these last year. They are a double petaled Shasta daisy. They don't bloom the 1st year either...so I am looking forward to seeing last years plants bloom this summer!
~Wild New Hampshire Asters~
I tried to grow these last year...and it just didn't happen. This is a very tall aster and will have to go at the back of the garden. It has little purple-pinkish flowers with a yellow center.
Images of flowers are dancing about in my head! I can almost smell them now! ;o)

You sound like an experienced gardener..impressive!!
Roxanne,
Well, I don't know about that?! But, I do learn a bit more each year that I garden. It's fun!!
I had hollyhock seeds given to me when starting my back gardens. They did bloom the first year.
I will warn you they will reseed everywhere. I placed them back against the fence and need to tie them as they grew 6 feet tall. They bloomed all summer for me. The leaves however can get a lot of mildew on them. If the leaves looked nasty - I just cut them off... there is probably something you can do to prevent this but I'm very simplistic in my gardening.
Enjoy your plants - learn from them to just drink up the SON shine.
