Getaway

Well, we are back!

Had a really good time, despite the fact that we didn't like the B&B that we stayed at. It was described as a "resort" so our expectations were high. It turned out to be clean but so very basic. No TV and just a small shower in the room. Fortunately before we left home, last minute I packed up a few games (Crib, and Pass the Pigs), a deck of cards, Cd's and even our portable DVD player.

We spent most of our time walking around shopping in the little Town of Westport. There were neat shops and Art Galleries. Shaun bought me a pair of handcrafted earings (I got to choose)! At lunch we had the best pizza that I have ever tasted at a tiny restaurant called The Tangled Garden.

We also checked out another little Town called Perth. Lots of stores to look at as we walked in the rain (we remembered to pack the Umbrella).

On our way home we stopped in Kingston and shopped for hours. We got to go to The Tea Store, Jenny has raved about (I tried a Cinnamon Tea). We found more Art Galleries and bought a small framed Print of two swans, done by an Ojibway Artist, Doris Cyrette. I love it (be sure to check out her Web site -click on her name)!!

We both had a great time. Nothing better than spending some time alone with your love.

Thanks for your best wishes everyone!
PS. We saw over 25 deer, a beaver and lots of Hawks!

Hey Holly,
Who needs a TV in the room while on a weekend retreat with your hubby? Sounds like you had a great time.

Now I need to start planning for our 15th..its just over a month away.

So glad you were able to enjoy your time away! I'm a firm believer that weekends like these are not "expenses", but "investments".

Westport is an awesome place. Perth is so close to my home town. Great little town. So true Vicki, it is an investment.
