Gardening in March

I am starting a bit later than I normally do. But, my window sill garden has been growing for about a week and a half. So far we have several varieties that have sprouted and seedlings are now growing: Sage, Parsely, Basil, Snap Dragon (various colours) and annual Phlox (white and dark burgandy). Today, i planted 6 Wave Petunia seeds (dark pink).

A new thing for me this year was to start some seedlings off in the little shell of an egg. It has worked well and I will try it again. This is a great way to test the seed to make sure it's alive and active with out using a large pot (and needing lots of soil). If the seeds sprouts and grows all you need to do it remove some shell on the bottom and then pop it all into the soil of a larger pot.
