Circle Square Ranch (Arden)
So....Did they LOVE it?
I saw this with the outmost respect to the Ranch...No, they didn't actually. I will start with the positive. Tirzah loved the horses and Josiah loved the Staff's drama's and the campfires. A lage percentage of the kid's have been sent to the Ranch with the help of Social Services. These kids have had tragidy all ready in their short lives and as a result are pretty rough and tumble. This means that our kids who live in our somewhat "protected" lives, have to put up with behavior that is pretty explosive, etc. Tirzah is hoping that if she does go back she will go to a "girl's week" only. That would help the "drama" not too be so high. Josiah is interested in going back but only as Staff. Poor kid, he has 3 special needs kid's in his room and had to put up with a lot. I am surprised at the responsibility put on the Staff (teenagers). They really are wonderful though and our kid's loved them. Jenny, There was some barrel racing at the Rodeo but only the kid's that had earned their 3rd Star.
The pics are good.Sorry that the kids didn't enjoy it quite as much as hoped. (Sounds a bit like public school.)
Amy,Yes it is a bit like Public School in some ways but rather than 9 -3:30 it is 7 days a week and all the nights too. A little overwhelming (for some kid's). Sure is a great outreach though for the kid's in the Foster Care System...
