And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God... A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
Isa 35:1-4,8

Good things can happen in the desert...

I keep coming across scripture that is in reference to spring, flowers blossoming, and about us being bold with God's power. Must be a new season...and a season where we need to be strong. I am greatful that God has promised to strengthen my weak hands and firm my feeble knees. Shaun and I started the new year out by watching the movie Braveheart. Inspiring... God, help me to have the heart of a warrior.

My hope is that my knees become feeble from the amount of time I am on them...praying, and my hands become weak from turning the pages of my bible. May we war with prayer and scripture!!! God bless you fellow warrior.

Hey, daughter-in-law
I love your blog. I tend to go a long time without reading it (or until you send me an email reminder), and then I read it for a long time -the present and past blogs. It give me a little glimpse of "who" you are. Your are creative and artistic. And you love dreaming about flowers, and gardening. Most of all I love how you love our son - your hubby, and our two wonderful grandkids. Please give Shaun a big hug for us will you? I read Tirzah's blog(s) today for the first time. HOW SWEET! It makes me feel like i'm right there chatting with her. please give our love to the whole family. I wanted to send you a "rose" today, and tell you that I think you are a very special lady! Your blog is interesting, and inspirational. It is a great positive note in an otherwise negative world. Keep it up, Holly! I'm praying that everyone's health is better. I know Tirzah, in particular, struggles so much with her health.
I thought you might like a quote that my friend gave me last week. It's a rich one, and I'm going to meditate on it often, and have already passed it on to others. It's a quote from a Beth Moore book. I think the title of her book is "Jesus, the One and Only". The quote: "Jesus, inaculate me from the praise so man, and baptize me criticism of man, that I might die to the control of man." As a pastor, lots of criticism comes with the territory, so I find when I pray that quote; it takes the sting out of the criticism very quickly, and I truly am released from the power of that criticism and that person. Then I can pray for them, and get on with God's will and direction is for me. And, I know that pastor's are not the only one's that get criticism, it comes to anyone that are on the "front lines", and those that are a threat to the devil. We all must be more diligent to encourage others. Keep up the blogging. love linda

I am praying for greater intimacy with my Father. I pray that my desire to know Him goes beyond my desires for anything else. I feel that we are preparing for a new season, as well.

God bless you Holly.

Love, Rhonda
